What FavePoke Is
FavePoke is an independent, fan-made set of Pokémon tools. Its homepage is a free competitive Pokémon Team Builder for assembling complete six-Pokémon teams, reviewing format checks and team coverage, importing or exporting Pokémon Showdown text, and sharing a draft with another player.
Players building for a story playthrough can use the separate Pokémon Playthrough Team Planner, currently focused on Pokémon Emerald, Crystal, and Yellow. It includes version-specific encounters, evolution methods, learnsets, major battles, and stage availability without competitive set fields. The site also includes a Random Pokémon Generator and a Who's That Pokémon silhouette game. All public tools work without requiring an account.
What the Team Builder Uses
The builder works with versioned, locally served snapshots of community-maintained competitive data. The supported Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and Pokémon Champions catalogs include format rules, legal forms, types, base stats, abilities, items, moves, learnsets, natures, clauses, and other limits derived from Pokémon Showdown.
For supported formats, separate Smogon usage statistics provide usage rates and common sets. The builder displays the source version and, when available, the statistics month, rating cutoff, and battle sample alongside the tool.
What the Team Builder Does
FavePoke can:
- Build or edit a complete set with moves, ability, item, nature, Tera Type, level, EVs, IVs, gender, happiness, and nickname.
- Import and export teams in Pokémon Showdown text format.
- Check supported format constraints, including species, item, move, ability, team-size, duplicate, restricted-Pokémon, level, EV, IV, and Tera rules represented in the current snapshot.
- Analyze defensive weaknesses, resistances, immunities, offensive move coverage, speed tiers, and common team roles.
- Generate around locked choices using available usage data and common sets when the selected format has a sufficient battle sample, with a rules-based fallback where it does not.
- Save the current draft in the browser and create a URL that another player can open and review before saving it locally.
The recommendations and checks are planning aids, not a guarantee of tournament legality or battle success. Abilities, items, transformations, field effects, unusual move interactions, recently changed rules, and incomplete community data can alter the result. For an event, verify the current official rules and validate the exported team in the platform where it will be played.
Data Update Method
Source data is converted into versioned FavePoke snapshots by project scripts rather than requested live from community services during every visit. This makes builds reproducible and reduces third-party requests, but it also means a newly announced rule or game update may not appear until a new snapshot is generated and deployed.
FavePoke does not silently present a snapshot as live data: the competitive builder exposes its source version, and usage-assisted formats expose their statistics date and sample information. See Credits and Data Sources for source links and attribution.
Privacy by Default
The competitive Team Builder stores the full current draft in browser local storage. A generated share URL contains an encoded copy of the team so it can be restored in another browser; the recipient can inspect the team without changing the sender's saved draft. The Playthrough Team Planner separately stores six selected Pokémon IDs and can include them in its share URL. Team names and Pokémon nicknames should not contain private or sensitive information.
Read the Privacy Policy for details about shared URLs, browser storage, request logs, optional analytics, advertising, support services, and account information.
Independent Fan Project
FavePoke is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or officially connected to Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, Creatures Inc., or GAME FREAK inc. Pokémon names, characters, artwork, and related materials belong to their respective rights holders.
The FavePoke name, original letter-mark logo, interface, explanatory copy, and implementation were created for this website.
