Alomomola + Gliscor Balance

A patient balance team for long pivot games: Alomomola passes Wish through a slow Flip Turn, Gliscor strips items and spreads Toxic, and the three faster attackers prevent the defensive core from becoming passive.

Game plan

How the six slots work together

Activate Gliscor’s Toxic Orb early, then use Protect to scout choice-locked attacks and Poison Heal to win small exchanges. Alomomola can Wish, Protect, or use a slow Flip Turn to deliver Zamazenta or Iron Valiant at high health; Mirror Coat is a punish for a telegraphed special hit, not the default response. Corviknight absorbs physical contact and keeps hazards manageable, while Choice Scarf Gholdengo supplies immediate speed control. This version does not set hazards, so progress comes from Knock Off, Toxic, Rocky Helmet, and repeated favorable entries rather than waiting for passive chip alone.

When to use this team

  • Best for drawn-out games against physical pivot teams, status-heavy balance, and structures that can be worn down after their Heavy-Duty Boots are removed.
  • Avoid choosing this exact six when the expected field is dominated by immediate special setup or hazard stack; it has no Stealth Rock setter and must create progress actively.

Lead options

  • Gliscor into passive, status-oriented, or choice-locked structures so Toxic Orb activates before Knock Off can matter.
  • Alomomola when the opponent lacks an immediate Electric- or Grass-type punish and Flip Turn can reveal the response.
  • Choice Scarf Gholdengo when an offensive lead must be threatened immediately rather than scouted.

Win conditions

  • Knock Off and Toxic remove the opponent’s long-term recovery, allowing Zamazenta to build an Iron Defense and Body Press endgame.
  • Iron Valiant uses Calm Mind once Steel-types have been weakened and faster revenge killers are in Choice Scarf Gholdengo range.
  • Gholdengo can clean with Make It Rain when the defensive core has forced enough item loss and chip.

Watch for

  • Special setup attackers can exploit Protect or a passive Wish turn; Mirror Coat is a prediction tool, not a complete answer.
  • The roster has no Stealth Rock setter, so do not mistake a healthy defensive loop for actual progress.
  • Preserve Corviknight’s Rocky Helmet, Gholdengo’s Choice Scarf, and Gliscor’s Toxic Orb activation; losing those item roles changes the matchup sharply.

Possible replacements

  • Slowking-Galar can replace Alomomola for Future Sight and stronger special cushioning, but the team loses Wish passing and a dedicated Water pivot.
  • Ting-Lu can replace Gliscor to add Stealth Rock and sturdier special counterplay, at the cost of Poison Heal, speed, and status absorption.
  • Ogerpon-Wellspring can replace Iron Valiant for immediate physical breaking and Water Absorb, but changes the special setup route.
